Summary
These Playtest Terms explain the rules and expectations for participating in ROBA playtests.
By submitting the playtest signup form or participating in a playtest, you agree to these terms.
1) Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
- You must be able to receive messages through the official ROBA Discord server (primary coordination channel).
- Playtest slots are limited. Submitting an application does not guarantee access.
2) In-Development Software
- ROBA is unfinished and may contain bugs, crashes, performance issues, missing features, and placeholder content.
- Game balance and systems may change at any time.
- Your progress or settings may be reset or wiped during development.
3) Communication and Discord Requirement
- The official ROBA Discord is the primary way playtests are coordinated.
- If you leave the Discord server, you may no longer be eligible to participate and your playtest access may be removed.
4) NDA and Confidentiality
- Some playtests may require you to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). If required, you must sign it before receiving access.
- Even when an NDA is not used, you agree not to share private playtest materials that are clearly marked as confidential (for example: private build links, private channels, unannounced features, internal patch notes).
- Do not publicly distribute builds, keys, download links, or private access instructions.
5) Streaming, Recording, and Screenshots
- Unless you have written permission from ROBA, do not livestream, upload gameplay, or post screenshots from private playtests.
- If a playtest is announced as "public" or "shareable", we will clearly state what is allowed.
6) Conduct
- Be respectful. Abusive conduct, slurs, targeted harassment, doxxing, or threats are not allowed.
- Do not cheat, exploit, or disrupt playtests. Reporting bugs is encouraged; abusing them is not.
- Follow any additional rules posted in the official Discord playtest channels.
7) Feedback
- Playtesting is about improving the game. You agree to provide honest feedback when possible.
- You grant ROBA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use and incorporate your feedback and suggestions into the game and related materials, without compensation.
8) Ownership and Restrictions
- ROBA and all related content are owned by ROBA / its developers.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or assets except where legally prohibited from restricting.
- You may not redistribute builds or content you receive through playtests.
9) Termination
- ROBA may revoke playtest access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including rule violations.
- You may stop participating at any time.
10) Disclaimers
- Playtest software is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
- To the maximum extent allowed by law, ROBA is not liable for damages arising from participation, including lost data, hardware issues, or downtime.
11) Changes to These Terms
- We may update these terms as development continues.
- When we update them, we will change the version and effective date at the top of this page.
